Tahini Puppy Chow
Because sometimes you just need a good and sugary treat (especially for a big and upcoming football game perhaps???) we’ve got puppy chow today. This version, from Molly Yeh, uses tahini instead of peanut butter for a little more, ya know, maturity.
Recipe from Molly Yeh
Makes about 8 cups
Ingredients
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup tahini
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
6 cups Chex cereal (I used corn)
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 cup chopped halva*
2/3 cup m&ms*
Preparation
In a small saucepan over medium low heat, melt butter. Stir in the tahini, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla. Add the chocolate chips and stir until the chocolate is fully melted. Remove from heat.
In a large bowl with a lid, combine the Chex and tahini mixture, stirring gently to keep the Chex from breaking. Stir in half of the powdered sugar and then add the rest of the powdered sugar and the sesame seeds, snap on the lid and shake, shake, shake! Taste and add more powdered sugar as desired.
Finally, fold in the chopped halva and m&ms and enjoy!
*These are just add-ons! If you can't find halva, or don't want to include it or m&ms, just skip them!
